With Bentley's 100th anniversary coming up next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. It is a tribute to the company's founder, W.O. Bentley and even includes an item from one of his cars.
The special model which is available on the long or regular wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed was influenced by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. The 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. bentley keys can be seen throughout the cabin and even the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that has an open display window that displays an image of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre display inside.
W.O. is emblazoned in an air vent in the shape of a B on the chrome-colored application that runs along the back side of the vehicle. The front grille has been designed following 1930s-inspired Onyx and there's an optional chrome finish around the lower spoilers on the left and right. The front grille also features distinct design, featuring a chrome shell replacing the body-color mesh of the Mulsanne. It also features the Flying B Logo.
The key box is decorated with Bentley wings and is fitted with the lining of black flock. Key pouches on their own can be bought to match or contrast the key box. The commemorative set includes the scale model in 1:18 and an aircraft-like "B" paperweight. It also comes with a printed booklet featuring never-before seen images of the original Bentley 8 Litre.
The Bentley Wing Key Box
This accessory is perfect for Bentley owners and enthusiasts. It comes with an exclusive key box that is embossed in Bentley wings. This keybox is carefully wrapped in tissue paper inside the gift box, it's the ideal present for Christmas, birthdays, and other special occasions.
The key fob's metal-tometal knurling mimics the texture of the interior including the temperature controls as well as the shift knob. "We wanted the knurling's appearance to be as smooth and uniform as we could," says Van Braekel. It was crucial to keep the dimensions and shape of the fob in line with the same shape and size.
Bentley Mulliner customers are able to select any color from the Bentley portfolio, in addition to any combination of hides or veneers, and bespoke embroidery. Bentley's signature diamond in diamond quilting is applied across the entire cabin, with nearly 400,000 stitches. The lighting in the cabin can also be altered to suit different moods.
Outside illuminated treadplates, brushed silver clocks are available as standard. The new 22in wheels feature self-levelling Bentley logos. Customers can also choose to have their own bespoke Bentley emblem laser-etched onto the rear fixing, in a nod to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. Edition that inspired the car. Bentley's "Speed" series is a lot of fun taking the Continental GT's already extravagant excess and cranks it up to eleven. It's not all about the stunning exterior or the extra appetizers and hors d'oeuvres.
